Celebrating 5 years of the Youdan Trophy!

We are immensely proud to announce that 2019 will be the 5th year of the Youdan Trophy. Starting in 2015, the first final was fittingly held at Bramall Lane as it was in 1867.

We have been fortunate to host clubs from all over the world and seen some true future stars of the game light up the tournament. This combination is something we know will only get better as we grow and progress our plans for further overseas events whilst building our opportunities for grassroots clubs through our development tournaments.

For us 2109 is shaping up as follows:

Offers the most competitive international academy football in England with top quality accommodation and playing facilities. The tournament is by invitation only and teams are selected based on previous performance as well as stature of the club. Our teams and referees travel to Sheffield from five continents.
To be held in October 2019, with more details to be announced shortly.
Our development competitions follow our professional tournaments giving grassroots clubs the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their professional Academy peers. Held over a weekend, we have several planned from January 2019.
In 2018 we piloted our very first Primary Schools tournament the ‘Primary Schools World Cup’ in Yorkshire, attracting 32 schools to compete against their peers and partake in a fun day of football and activities. This will continue year-on-year, in line with FIFA’s professional tournaments, following their group stage and knockout format. We plan to expand this model regionally going forward.

These mark some of our plans for 2019 and show how far we have come in only a  few years. We are hugely excited about 2019 and beyond and – whether you are a club, coach, referee, or volunteer – we hope you get in touch to be part of this major tournament.
